Spectroscopy and Optical Systems
In spectroscopy we have the following techniques: Raman, Fluorescence, Ellipsometry, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Surface Plasmon Resonance Imaging (SPRi) and Photo-induced force microscopy PiFM (NanoIR).
Raman is when a monochromatic radiation is impinged on a sample, this light interacts with it in a certain way. It can be reflected, absorbed, or scattered in some way. The change in wavelength of the scattered photons is what provides chemical and structural information.
